30 years Quattro
30 Years in Business

This month we are celebrating 30 years in business. Over the past 3 decades we have offered many services to the construction industry and continue to do so today!

As we turn 30, we would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone that has been a part of our journey.

We will be sharing some content old and new over the coming weeks as we celebrate this milestone.

Here's to the next 30!

Red Diesel Legislation Changes

From the 1st April 2022 it will no longer be legal to use red diesel for non-road mobile machinery such as loading shovels and forklift trucks. These changes are being made to help meet the governments climate change and air quality targets, part of the initiatives to help the UK become Net Zero by 2050. Businesses will be required to prepare for these changes by disposing of or transferring away from red diesel.

What does this mean for Quattro customers?

We are significantly impacted by the Governments decision to remove the use of low duty red diesel in our industry. Moving to standard road diesel, which is taxed at a much higher rate, significantly increases the operating costs of our plant and equipment.

Komatsu
Komatsu Machines

We have invested in 4 new Komatsu’s so far this year, 2 from the PC138US range and 2 from the PC210LC range.

With a host of safety and environmentally friendly features, key aspects when investing in machines, it helps us to also focus on productivity. Like all of our machines, the new Komatsu’s have EU Stage V engines. These are productive, dependable and efficient.

With ultra-low emissions, they provides a lower environmental impact and a superior performance to help reduce operating costs and lets the operator work in complete peace of mind. Safety features include Komatsu SpaceCab™, KomVision surround view system and Neutral position detection system.

M&K TPS120 Track Picking Station

To help us further in ensuring we have the best quality recycled aggregates, we have invested in the TPS120 from M&K.

It offers us additional waste processing capabilities with the help of magnets, wide picking belt and 1200mm discharge conveyor.

Safety is paramount to all of our operations. The TPS 120 ensures our staff are working in a safe environment.

The track mobility also gives us the freedom to use wherever we need it.

New McCloskey Screener
New McCloskey Screener

Quattro has invested in a brand new McCloskey S190 screener to help with our recycled aggregates division.

Features such as the adjustable screenbox angles allow adaptability to a wide range of material applications including quarrying, mining, sand and gravel, coal screening, topsoil, and woodchip.

With the highest grade specifications and component parts, the S190 screener is easily the number one choice for high productivity, quality and value.

The S190 is also offered as a Triple Deck and has the highest combined true screening area across three decks.

This class leading screening area, along with it high energy screening action ensure that the McCloskey Triple deck models are the superior choice in aggregate material screening.

New Sandvik QJ341
New Sandvik QJ341 Jaw Crusher

Continuing with the major investments we have made in our plant and machinery in 2021, we have also added a brand new crusher. The QJ341 Mobile jaw crusher is the largest in the Sandvik Premium range of jaw crushers. The feed opening is a massive 1200 by 750mm size, designed to tackle the most difficult applications.

It has been designed to meet the needs of the operator seeking a high-performance mobile jaw crusher which is both reliable and durable. With a large feed opening and unique high crushing speed it is capable of delivering high outputs with excellent reduction ratios. Perfect for processing our first class recycled aggregates.

The QJ341 makes light work of crushing the large rocks into a smaller more workable material.

Thank You NHS

We would like to thank all key workers during this difficult time, especially the NHS workers. As a small token of appreciation, we have given some of the lorries a bit of artwork.

Quattro recently lent a hand to Modebest Builders Ltd, who was asked by BBC’s DIY SOS to contribute to building a brand new community centre and boxing club for the community in the Grenfell area. After the tragic event that happened in North Kensington last year, we were more than happy to help and donated 300m3 of ready mix concrete to the cause.
